Our Programs and Services
Professional Thoroughbred Racehorse Training & Aftercare
The Louisiana Patriot Equine & Agricultural Heritage Center is committed to excellence in every stage of a Thoroughbred's journey. Our professional racehorse training and aftercare program is built on the highest standards of horsemanship, combining individualized conditioning, expert nutrition, preventative veterinary care, and daily hands-on attention to help each horse reach its full potential safely and responsibly. Equally important is our dedication to life beyond the racetrack. Through comprehensive rehabilitation, retraining, and transition programs, we prepare retired racehorses for successful second careers in equine-assisted services, recreational riding, sport disciplines, or carefully matched forever homes. By prioritizing both peak performance and lifelong welfare, our program honors the remarkable athleticism, heart, and spirit of every Thoroughbred entrusted to our care.
Youth Leadership and Agricultural Education
The Louisiana Patriot Equine & Agricultural Heritage Center is committed to developing the next generation of agricultural professionals, equine specialists, and community leaders through comprehensive youth leadership and educational programming. By combining hands-on learning with mentorship from experienced professionals, participants gain practical skills in horse care, racehorse management, livestock husbandry, sustainable agriculture, pasture management, agribusiness, and rural stewardship. In partnership with local schools, homeschool organizations, 4-H, FFA, and community youth groups, the Center will provide workshops, clinics, leadership academies, public speaking opportunities, agricultural competitions, and community service projects that foster confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and lifelong learning while inspiring careers in agriculture and the equine industry. To further strengthen workforce development throughout Southwest Louisiana, the Center will pursue collaborative partnerships with nearby colleges, universities, community colleges, and technical schools to establish internships, apprenticeships, cooperative education programs, and research opportunities. Students will gain valuable real-world experience in equine training and aftercare, veterinary support, stable management, farm operations, agribusiness, event management, nonprofit administration, and agricultural technology. These educational pathways will create a sustainable pipeline of skilled professionals while providing meaningful volunteer opportunities that encourage civic engagement, preserve Louisiana's agricultural heritage, and prepare future generations to lead and innovate within the state's equine and agricultural industries.
